What happens at the initial interview?

An initial interview can occur in person, via email or telephone...whichever method is most convenient for you.

During the initial interview process we need to find out a variety of things.

  • Who is your audience?
  • What are the goals of your project?
  • How will you know your project is successful?
  • What other materials do you use to promote yourself?

If the project is a web design:

  • What browser/resolution will your audience be using? What is their typical connection speed?
  • Do you have colors, existing graphics, logos, etc.?
  • Who will choose the web hosting service?
  • What browser/resolution will you be using? What is your connection speed?
  • How often do you want to update your site?
  • Goals of the site
    · Navigation
    · Look and feel
    · Content
    · Special features
  • Who will provide content?

By understanding the market and your goals, we can tailor the design to meet your needs.

How much do you charge? What about a contract?

We will bid on your project based on the information obtained in our initial interview. When you choose Dutcher Design, we sign a contract specifying the obligations of both parties. This is beneficial to both parties.

Generally, a flat rate bid is given for the project discussed in the initial interview.

Should you prefer to pay an hourly rate, it is $60/hour.

Non-profit organization rates available.
